I’m an adult now, but I’ve never started noticing Disney films. I can’t seem to help but sit down and truly appreciate everything the House of Mouse has to offer, whether it’s an animated movie or a live-action experience. Now that I have a Disney+ membership, I’ve been re-watching some of my old favorites as well as trying out some newer flicks. There’s never a bad time to see a Disney film, and Disney+ has made it easier than that to get your hands on movies.
Everyone’s top Disney movies will be distinct, and now that the media empire has bought Star Wars and Marvel, there is an abundance of terrific movies to select from. Nevertheless, for this selection, I’m only including movies that made me experience that traditional Disney enchantment.

1. UP (2009)
Up is one of Disney’s most heartbreaking yet the most heartwarming movies of all time. This Pixar film hits you in the gut immediately with a heartbreaking look at the ultimate demise of all beautiful things. Thankfully, what begins as a picture of grief and misery swiftly transforms into a joyful story of a guy who believes he has lost all reason to live discovering hope in a tiny boy who needs him. Inside Out is another Pixar film that punches you in the feels like this one, but for the sake of keeping my list to only 6 best choices, I choose to highlight Up rather. It’s largely due to Doug the talking dog if I’m being truthful.
2. Coco (2016)
Coco is a stunning and moving celebration of life and ancestry that will take your breath away. It’s not just a culturally relevant film that uses Spanish in its speech, but it also has a somewhat serious story woven into it, reminiscent of classic Disney tragedies like The Lion King. As is customary, this film has some fantastic new compositions that are far too infectious for its benefit, as well as some fantastic motion control technology that was used to create the humorous side characters.
3. Mulan (1988)
when I was a child, and it quickly became one of my all-time favorite Disney films. Reflecting closely, it was among the first occasions a Disney “princess” was depicted as a self-sufficient individual being. But as a child, all I remember thinking was that it was pretty interesting. The music is fantastic, and Eddie Murphy’s performance as Mushu is superior to anything he might later do in Shrek. Mulan is the kind of Disney film that tells the story of an unusual hero conquering enormous circumstances.
4. Aladdin (1992)
While it may be claimed that Robin Williams’ absolute inventiveness as the Genie was the only explanation this picture was so brilliant, no argument will ever persuade me to pull this animated movie from the top of my list. Aladdin is more than simply a gem in the dust, with magic, battles, and a rags-to-riches main protagonist. Aladdin is one of the best Disney albums, with songs by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, so it’ll be tricky to find a song catchier than Friend Like Me, even if Williams improvises his way throughout the majority of it.
5. The Lion King (1994)
It’s an incredible story. It contains everything you could desire from a Disney film, including appealing animal characters, complex ideas, and a famous soundtrack composed by Elton John and Tim Rice. You know it’s good since the original movie went on to become one of the most spectacular Broadway musicals of all time. Look no farther than the soulless “live-action” sequel, which was mostly CGI, for proof of how great the original Lion King is.
